BuSO Spermalie is a school for young people with autism, visual impairments, hearing impairments, and/or speech and language development disorders. “Our classes consist of 6 to 7 pupils, so we were looking for a different layout than typical secondary schools,” says Bert Dekeyzer (Coordinating Director of Support Services).
“Dox developed a table specifically for our pupils: a desk we named ‘Huisje Weltevree’ (it resembles a little house) with sides that can be folded up or down, depending on the level of stimuli you want to block out.” – Bert Dekeyzer
“‘Huisje Weltevree’ is the finest example of how we can respond to the specific requirements and educational needs of the young person. We can switch from an almost stimulus-free workspace to one that allows for more interaction with fellow pupils and teachers.”
